Dakore Egbuson-Akande speaks on return to acting, raising her kids and fans

 Nollywood star Dakore Egbuson-Akande explains why she returned to Nollywood after taking a break
 – She says her job in the movie industry was not done at the time hence her return
 – She had to power through child bearing and raising her kids to return to acting

Dakore Egbuson-Akande has touched on her break from the movie industry saying she took a breather to focus on family matters.

Speaking to Pulse TV, she said her job in Nollywood was not done hence her return to making movies.
She also said she did not particularly plan to go off for any period of time, but rather it all happened naturally.
She said: “My work isn’t done yet. It never was. It just kind of happened that way. It’s not something I thought of and said okay it’s gonna be five years, I’m gonna take time off. No. Life doesn’t really happen that way.
“It just happened. And my kids came quickly. And I’m happy. Now. I’m a mum of two and I’m more settled. But I had to power through that to come back to work. And that was tough. It took a lot of guts.”
She also credits her fans for the love and support saying they contributed to making her return to acting.
The Bayelsa indigene said their messages to her on social media convinced her that her impact in the industry had been missed, which also added to why she felt the urge to return.
She also explained that being a creative she did not find it interesting sitting back and not doing much, which is why she decided to return to acting.
The Fifty actress said the primary requirements for success is to stay focused, determined and having a good support system.
Dakore Egbuson-Akande is a 37-year-old actress and brand ambassador who has been in the movie industry since 1999.
She has over 50 movie appearances to her credit and has successfully managed to combine her career in Nollywood with running a family. She is married to Olumide Akande and they both have two kids.
